I have the Edge update and I don't have Edge. I turned off the MS Explorer (uninstalled/deactivated) and searched for updates and it's still there. It says it's important so I wanted to check if it's ok to hide and ignore it. Thanks for your help.

That did the trick. The G DVD rom is gone. Is the only way this could have gotten mounted is if there had been a disk in the drive at some time?

Yes, there is no disk in the CD/DVD drive. My DVD drive has always been E: which is there plus this G: DVD drive.

I was looking in Disk Management and It is showing a G: and it is showing it as CD-ROM 1, DVD, 3.23GB. It says it is nst-26-9267.86_. I don't know where it came from or how it got there. Should I format the G: drive?
