i have 2 email accounts, 1 with frontier and outlook. but i have not been able to remember the password for my outlook for a couple of years.
but i need a second email account. so i need to know how to remove outlook so i can start with it again.

Not sure what's your exact goal.

You can remove both Windows mail and Outlook (diff apps) via the classic uninstall using the control panel, or WindowsAppBoss to remove any metro app, that's for the apps at least.

As for your Outlook account, if that's the goal, you can delete it (the account) inside your mail program. Also, as far as I can remember, outlook/hotmail will delete/disable your account as long as you don't login over a period of 6 months (from the top of my head, this may have changed).

On Windows 8.1 you should have the icon of an envelope. You can ignore it, or uninstall it using Windows App Boss (but you will not be able of installing it again because the Windows Store has been discontinued).

I'm personally using eMClient as my default email program, there is a free version and works pretty much as Microsoft Mail / Outlook.
